Have you ever heard of Disney? Of course you have, who hasn’t, but do you know the truth about Disney? Disney is a company that was created by Walt and Roy Disney on October 16, 1923. According to http://conspiraciestargetingtheyouth.weebly.com. Many people know Disney as a family company that makes great films, T.V. shows and amusement parks, but do you know that Disney hides images and words in there movies, T.V. shows, and amusement parks? When there are images and words hidden in things, but its made to be picked up its called subliminal messaging. All in all, Disney has been using inappropriate subliminal messaging on kids since they started the corporation all the way till now.
You may still be a little confused about subliminal messaging. Also known as subliminal stimuli, subliminal messaging is when you read or watch something and there is something in the background or right in front of you that you cant clearly see or you don’t realize its there. Although you cant see the images your brain easily picks it up and it stays in your mind, especially if you watch it over and over again. “Visual stimuli may be quickly flashed before an individual can process them, or flashed and then masked, thereby interrupting the processing.” (Wikipedia, 2013). For the exact definition or for more information about subliminal messaging click on the link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subliminal_messages. An example of subliminal messaging in Disney is in the movie “The Lion King” when the character, Simba lies down and sends dirt flying in the air and for a little less than a second it spells out the word “sex” in the sky. This is just one of the many times Disney has used subliminal messaging in its movies.
In addition to that here are some things Disney puts in their movies (as shown above). In the movie “Little Mermaid” there are several inappropriate showings including private parts hidden in the background or on the characters. Another example is in “Beauty and the Beast” they show they word “sex” multiple times in water, smoke and hidden in architecture. In the scene when the Beast throws the guys off of the castle, as the guy is falling, for less than a second there appears to be sculls and crossbones in his eyes. My last example is in “Aladdin” the main character Aladdin say’s “Good teenagers take off your clothes.” (Aladdin, 1992)
Anyways some people think the reason Disney put these images in their movies and shows is the animators were angry they were not getting any credit for the movies so they tried to sneak these images in to get rid of their frustration. However a law was pasted to give animators credit for movies and films. So how come there’s still subliminal messaging in the shows and movies today? Another reason people think Disney puts these images in their movies is Walt Disney was just a sick man and his legacy started to live on through the former and current owners of the Walt Disney corporation. “I feel as if I left a pedophile with my child” (Blomquist 3)”. If this is the case I suggest they need to find a new owner who will not corrupt children’s minds.
Surprisingly there is even subliminal messaging in the famous amusement parks Disneyland and Disneyworld. You know how they call Disneyworld “The happiest place on earth” well if you ask their workers they would disagree. Disneyworld workers are not aloud to have facial hair, they must smile at all times, girl can’t have earring’s larger than a quarter, and there finger nails can’t be longer than half a centimeter, boys sideburns can’t go below there earlobes and there finger nails must be trimmed at all time. They do these things so kids think the place is perfect and always want to come back. In the laundry room they have big screens that actually keep score of how good your doing your job. “Isabel Barrera, a Disneyland Hotel laundry worker for eight years, began calling the new system the “electronic whip” when it was installed last year.” (Lopez, 2013)” Ever since she said that the name has stayed. Most employees are known for skipping bathroom breaks because the fear their managers would become furious and ask for an explanation. The managers did not even have sympathy for a pregnant women who had trouble standing up.
Lastly, Disney puts a lot of subliminal messaging in its movies and the most resent one was in “Tangled” were in Repanzells hair it spells out the word “sex” as it does in many other Disney movies. Furthermore no one knows the exact reason why Disney does these things. Also they treat their employees like slaves and they don’t have sympathy for anyone. All in all Disney needs to stop putting these inappropriate subliminal messages in there T.V. shows, amusement parks and movies before they really start to creep people out and loose customers.
